Out Of The Past(ı) Filminin Konusu
Jeff Bailey (Robert Mitchum) küçük bir kasabada benzincilik yapmaktadır. Ancak bir gün, pis işler yapan Whit Sterling (Kirk Douglas) ile karşılaşır ve esrarengiz geçmişinin peşini bırakmadığını anlar. Geçmişte Jeff, Whit tarafından tutulan bir özel dedektiftir. Whit’i yaraladıktan sonra 40 bin dolarını alarak Acapulco’ya kaçan sevgilisi Kathie (Jane Greer) ’yi bulmak için görevlendirilir. Ancak Kathie, öyle etkileyici bir kadındır ki Jeff’e Whit hakkındaki her şeyi unutturur. Whit’in yeni işi tabi ki Jeff için bir tuzak kurmaktır ama Jeff’in aldığı önlemler Whit’i daha beter bir tuzağa düşürür.
